Yes. Unlike switching between Essential and Elite (which share similar ingredients and can be swapped without a transition), Legacy is a different type of formula: it's grain-free, red-meat-based, and has a different macronutrient profile. We recommend transitioning gradually over 7–10 days:
- Days 1–3: 25% Legacy / 75% current food
- Days 4–6: 50% Legacy / 50% current food
- Days 7–9: 75% Legacy / 25% current food
- Day 10: 100% Legacy
Monitor stool quality and appetite, and slow the transition if you notice any digestive upset.

FEEDING GUIDE
Serve with fresh, clean drinking water available at all times. Because dogs vary in age, activity level, metabolism, and environment, use these amounts as a starting point and adjust as needed to maintain ideal body condition.

Feeding amounts are based on a standard 8 oz measuring cup.
Puppies: Feed up to 2× the adult amount at 1½-3 months of age, 1½× the adult amount from 3-6 months, and 1¼× the adult amount from 6-11 months, divided into 2-3 meals daily. Large-breed puppies with an expected adult weight of 70 lbs or more should be fed toward the lower end of the range to support controlled growth.
Gestation: Increase intake approximately 25-50% above adult maintenance.
Lactation: Feed free-choice.
