Raw Whole Carcass Chicken Dog Food
A Note from Team Dog: Temporary Raw Food Shortage
Our raw food options are temporarily out of stock due to a short-term production supply issue at the manufacturing facility. We’re already working with our team to get production back online, and we expect inventory to be limited for the next few weeks. We will notify you the moment the supply is restored.
We know your dog's nutrition isn't something you take lightly. Neither do we.
We know many of you rely on Team Dog’s raw formulas each day. That matters to us. Here’s how to navigate this short-term gap to ensure your dog’s nutrition remains high-quality and consistent, while delivering the results you’ve become accustomed to at Team Dog.
Can I Use Raw Meat from the Grocery Store or Butcher in the Meantime?
Short answer: for a few days, maybe. As a complete solution? No.
Plain ground beef from the grocery store is a decent short-term bridge, but it will not come close to matching the nutritional value of Team Dog Raw.
Team Dog Raw isn't just meat. Our raw beef blend combines raw beef muscle with beef tripe, liver, spleen, kidney, and heart. This product is also comprised of 10% herring with bone.
What is Unique About the Formulation of Team Dog Raw?
- This premium raw beef and herring blend was specifically designed to provide the benefits of feeding raw food while also delivering balanced nutrition.
- Tripe delivers natural digestive enzymes and probiotics that plain muscle meat simply doesn't contain.
- Liver is loaded with vitamin A, vitamin B12, and iron.
- Heart, spleen, and kidney support heart health with CoQ10.
- Herring brings in omega-3 fatty acids for skin, coat, and inflammation support.
Together, these ingredients make Team Dog Raw a comprehensive raw food that raw beef from a grocery store cannot match.
Should I Source Raw Meat from a Grocery Store or Butcher?
Sourcing those components separately (muscle meat + organs + oily fish) from a butcher is possible and could be a closer match, but it can be extremely challenging manage that ratio accurately and safely. A simple substitution of plain meat gets your dog fed raw, but the full nutritional profile may fall short or overshoot nutrients.
We’ve meticulously developed our raw formula with a variety protein for amino acid diversity. In addition, we have carefully balanced mineral ratios (especially calcium-to-phosphorus), which are imperative for your dog’s health. This precision matters. Our formulations are designed to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for complete and balanced nutrition.
What Is Team Dog’s Temporary Feeding Recommendation?
Our guidance: If you are committed to feeding raw, understand this is a short-term stopgap, not a formulated solution.
For most dogs, the safer and more practical short-term option is to transition to a high-quality complete kibble diet, such as Team Dog Essential or Elite, until our raw blends are back in stock.
We’d rather provide you with a complete and balanced option rather than risk nutritional gaps.
Could Team Dog’s Beef Micro Patties Be Used as a Raw Substitute?
Yes, feel free to use our Beef Micro Patties as a temporary solution until Raw is back in stock. Our Beef Micro Patties are freeze-dried raw, made from beef, beef liver, beef lung, and beef kidney. This multi-protein profile overlaps meaningfully with our raw meat blend. They're not just treats; they're formulated to meet AAFCO profiles, making them a strong option as a short-term raw replacement.
The patties can be rehydrated in warm water to be topped on your dog’s current dry food. Crumble the patty into a bowl, add warm water, and let sit for 1–2 minutes until fully rehydrated. Start with a small amount of water and add more until you reach your dog's preferred consistency.
Below are the specific daily serving sizes of Team Dog Essential or Elite food and Beef Micro Patties to comprise a diet of 75% kibble and 25% free-dried raw food.

Ingredients
100% Whole Carcass Chicken, including neck, liver, and heart (no heads, beaks, feathers, feet, guts, gizzards, or solution of any kind).
Why Choose Whole Carcass Chicken
Unlike mechanically separated chicken, our whole carcass approach preserves natural ratios exactly as nature intended. Each carcass is sourced by our team and processed in a dedicated poultry facility, where it is ground and tubed by hand. The product is then flash-frozen at -30°F using the same sanitation protocols as those used in human consumption facilities.
Natural Bone Content
The natural bone content is carefully maintained throughout our whole carcass processing. This entire food approach helps support strong bones and healthy teeth through natural nutrition.
Chicken Liver & Heart
The included chicken liver and heart help support normal body functions through whole-food nutrition and add a new protein choice to incorporate into your pet's feeding routine.
Each Team Dog Raw order is shipped in its own dedicated cooler for freshness and quality. Once you receive your order, freeze any items you won’t use right away. If any of your products arrive thawed or starting to defrost, don’t worry or panic. It’s perfectly safe to thaw and re-freeze pet food.

Our raw food partner is a US-based, FDA-registered facility with over 35 years of experience in the pet food industry. Every stage of production; from procurement to packaging and distribution is tightly regulated and third-party audited to deliver quality and safety.
Always wash your hands before and after handling raw pet food. Additionally, disinfect the countertops and surfaces where raw food has touched with hot, soapy water or place them in a dishwasher on the sanitize setting. This includes cutting boards, feeding bowls, and utensils such as knives.
For longer-term storage, freeze raw food until ready for use. Raw food can be thawed by being placed in the refrigerator. The CDC recommends keeping refrigerators below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.5C) since pathogens can grow rapidly in temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.5C).
